Thanks to our friends Pete and Maggie (who we met on the Leeds & Liverpool canal) and to a bit of serendipity, we have just been to Birmingham to see another concert by the Ukes (Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain). It was great.
Pete contacted us a couple months ago to see if we wanted to go with them. Unfortunately, he then found that he could not get us tickets.
However, Francoise does not like to give up. A week ago, she rang the box office and managed to get us 2 tickets (not sitting together, but still tickets!). We emailed Pete and Maggie to say that we would be coming after all only to find out that they did not have any tickets either!
Fortunately, Pete kept calling the box office and - the day before the show - was able to buy two returned tickets. So we were all able to go to the concert after all.
The moral of this story is - never give up!
